Postoperative Bandages

This bolster is placed at the end of surgery and removed in the surgeons office 7-10 days later.

The bolster is needed to:

  • keep the vaginal packing in place. The vaginal packing is placed  to help with sealing the vaginal lining in place and hemostasis

  • pressure on areas that bleed in the first 1-2 days

  • a catheter is emptying your bladder since this area needs to have the compression bolster

  • this bolster is not waterproof, so no showers or baths are allowed while you have it in place but sponge baths or bird baths are ok.
